Sundernagar Rotary Club repairs NH-21

Bringing a major relief to the tourists and other travellers who were suffering from deplorable condition of the National Highway-21, Rotary Club Sundernagar did a yeoman service in filling up the potholes on the highway between Pungh and Ner Chowk in a stretch of about 6 km.

It is expected that the example set by the Sundernagar Rotary Club would emulate other agencies engaged in social service. Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh, said that the repair and renovation work of the NH-21 was being done on a war-footing by the NHAI by quickly responding to his request.

He said the worst and the most venerable and fractured portion of the road between Bilaspur and Swarghat has already been repaired and tarred and the work on the Kiratpur and Swarghat portion was being done by the special labour force by using heavy machines. He said it would be completed within a fortnight.

After that the work on Bilaspur — Sundernagar and Sundernagar-Mandi portion would also be taken up on a war-footing. It had been envisaged to accomplish the repair of the road before Dussehra holidays.
