Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain on Tuesday said the State Government would soon issue a notification regarding the summer and winter holidays for anganwadi workers and helpers in the State which they could avail every year.
Presiding over a meeting with the senior officers of Women and Child Development Department, the minister also discussed the demands of anganwadi workers and helpers.
Jain directed the officers to make arrangements of container in all the anganwadi centres and send the demand for the same as per the requirement. She also directed them to submit a proposal for increasing the additional charge of Rs 50 being provided by the Central Government.
The Minister said State Government has no objection in transferring the rent of buildings of anganwadi centres into the accounts of anganwadi helpers and workers provided that there is adequate arrangement of clean drinking water and toilet in the buildings. Apart from this, the anganwadi workers would have to submit rent agreement on time.
She directed the officers to change the dress code of anganwadi helpers as per their demand.
Besides, she also asked them to send the estimate of anganwadi centres which needs to be repaired so that the same could be taken up on priority basis. Jain directed the Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development Department Raja Sekhar Vundru to interact with the anganwadi workers and helpers who are staging dharna outside the office headquarters in Panchkula and discuss their demands.
