Sukhbir Singh Badal, president of Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab would start his campaign for the candidates of Indian National lok Dal (INlD) from Wednesday in Haryana.
Sharanjit Singh Sota, State president of SAD in Haryana said Sukhbir Badal would address series of public rallies at five places, including at two places in Sirsa parliamentary constituency, at Assandh in Karnal constituency, at Pehowa in Kurkushetra constituency and at Ambala parliamentary constituency during his Haryana tour.
He added that all the DCs have already been informed about Badal’s tour. As parliamentary elections are also taking place in the Punjab too, hence due to shortage of time, Sukhbir has scheduled to complete this political campaign on helicopter in Haryana.
INlD is quite optimistic over the helping hand from SAD, especially at that time when its senior leaders including party chief Om Prakash Chautala are behind bar in JBT scam case.
However, Haryana unit of BJP is not happy over this move of SAD in Haryana.
Ram Bilas Sharma, president of BJP Haryana, had already said that SAD, which is an ally of BJP in Punjab and an important part in NDA at national level, should abstain from such campaign especially for the candidates of that INlD, which is directly opposing BJP in Haryana. Sharma had also warned SAD that it may affect the relations between the two parties.
SAD veteran and chief minister of Punjab Prakash Singh Badal had tried for pre-poll alliance between BJP and INlD in Haryana but it couldn’t materialise due to BJP’s alliance with Haryana Janhit Congress. INlD is contesting the elections alone.
