Sukhbir terms Kejriwal as the biggest enemy of Punjab

Published on:

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Thursday termed the Aam Admi Party’s (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as “biggest enemy of Punjab”.

“Kejriwal has taken U-turn twice on the issue of sharing of river waters through SYl canal by claiming the right of Delhi and other states on the river waters of Punjab,” said Sukhbir while interacting with media persons here.

He said that due to anti-Punjab stance adopted by AAP, its political graph is waning gradually and this novice party would not be able to open its account in the coming assembly elections in the state.

Terming Kejriwal and his core team from Delhi as the looters, he said that the statements of AAP leaders alleging sale of party tickets have proved the same. Besides, they have allotted the tickets to more than 40 candidates who have been indulged in serious cases, he pointed.

Sukhbir said that to share the power in Punjab, AAP and Congress were in a secret pact against Punjab and under this pact, AAP convenor has put up weak candidate from Patiala against the former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

In a scathing attack on Congress, Sukhbir said that this “anti-Sikh party” has been collapsed in the state due to groupism and weak leadership at national level. “Every leader in Congress has his own group and everyone have the ambition to be the chief minister of Punjab,” he said.

SOlID WASTE MANAGEMENT PlANT SITE TO BE CHANGED

Sukhbir Badal announced that the Solid Waste Management Plant, sternly opposed by the former Jalandhar Cantonment MlA Pargat Singh, will not be set up at the proposed site in Jamsher village of the area, and an alternative site would be located for the same. “We have decided to shift the plant from the existing site of Jamsher,” said Sukhbir, who was accompanied by SAD’s candidate from Jalandhar Cantonment Sarabjit Singh Makkar.  The plant was bone of contention and opposed by Pargat Singh, who has now switched his loyalty towards Congress.

NO OCTROI IN JAlANDHAR CANT AREAS

Deputy Chief Minister also announced to abolish octroi from the Jalandhar cantonment areas. He said that the Punjab government would compensate the loss of revenue due to withdrawal of octroi.
