Sukhbir takes on Cong for infighting

SAD president Sukhbir Badal on Wednesday stated that Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh and his Congress party have been stunned by the anger and hate wave against them in the State, and “that’s why most of the senior Congress leaders are generally staying away from the campaign and showing up merely as a formality to show their faces”.

“This is also why there is a civil war in the Congress as they now want to blame the impending poll disaster on one another,” said Sukhbir while addressing series of public gatherings in Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency from where he is contesting as SAD-BJP combine candidate.

SAD chief said that Capt Amarinder government had virtually shelved all social welfare and people-friendly schemes of SAD-BJP government because they were mentally preparing Punjabis for the bigger shock of permanently withdrawing all these schemes after the elections.

He warned the people that Capt Amarinder government will impose electricity bills on tubewells immediately after the elections are over.

“SAD-BJP, however, will not remain a mute witness to such cruel injustice, especially against the poor. We will certainly hit the streets and launch a morcha to force the government to continue these schemes,” he said.

Sukhbir said that the blame game in Congress started with the Chief Minister passing the buck to his ministers, MLAs and other leaders threatening to punish them for its impending defeat. He said that the Congress government days in Punjab were numbered. “Capt Amarinder will no longer remain the CM after the Lok Sabha poll. And this will be followed by Congress party disintegrating paving way for the return of SAD-BJP government in Punjab,” he said.
