For Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, Delhi is not far. After reaching out to the industrial honchos in Bangalore and Mumbai, Sukhbir is all set to hold discussions with the business heads of top industries in another metro city — Delhi.
In next two days, Sukhbir will meet the leading industrialists in Delhi to showcase the investment opportunities in Punjab.
Deputy Chief Minister had earlier led successful visits to Bangalore and Mumbai, which had led to initiation of discussions by leading companies including Infosys, Biocon, Tata, Reliance and Mahindra & Mahindra besides others to invest in Punjab.
During the next two days, Sukhbir will meet various heads of business units of ITC Group, Ranbaxy chairman Dr Tsutomu Une and Cargill India chairman Siraj Chaudhry, besides others.
Sukhbir will hold one-on-one meetings with the titans of industry to make them aware of the unique steps being taken by the Punjab government to invite industry into the State, besides updating them about the congenial and healthy industrial environment in Punjab.
During the course of his visit, he will also preside over a special meeting with the member of Punjab Investment Advisory Council and heads of industrial houses — including representatives of Helion Venture, CK Birla Group, Jubilant Bhartia Group, Dabur India limited, Bharti Airtel limited and Bharti Enterprises limited.
He would also preside over a special meeting with the member of Punjab Investment Advisory Council and heads of industrial houses.
Sukhbir, in a statement issued here, claimed that there was an unprecedented response of industrial giants to invest in Punjab after his recent visits to Bengaluru and Mumbai and the visit of all Tata Company heads to Punjab.
“The interest shown by the top industrial houses proved Punjab is one of the most preferred investment destinations and that within a short span of time, it would witness huge investments with the setting up of new industrial units,” he added.
Describing power and road connectivity as the basics of industrial prosperity of any nation and state, Sukhbir said that Punjab was in the process of initiating projects for four and six-lane roads in the State while the construction on various major routes was at an advanced stage of completion.
“Punjab is also set to become power surplus State by next month. Besides these two major aspects, the State Government has also introduced industry friendly industrial policy,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister also added that within few months, Punjab would become a State, where all NOCs and approvals would be facilitated by a single window system, which would provide all industry related clearances within an established timeframe.
Punjab is all set to organise Investment Promotion Summit on December 9-10, and “the event would witness signing of various MoUs with leading industrial houses”, he added.
