Sukhbir: SAD-BJP pair to sweep civic polls

Despite cold vibes between the alliance partners, Shiromani Akali Dal president and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Tuesday made it clear that the party is contesting polls jointly with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and there was a strong coordination and bond between both the parties.

At the same time, he asserted that the SAD-BJP coalition is all set to achieve clean sweep in ensuing civic polls in the State.  “The poll results would be a befitting reply to the rejected Congress and other political outfits since the wise electorates of Punjab would put their stamp of approval besides advocating the pro-people policies and development agenda of the ruling combine,” Sukhbir said while presiding over a function at Ranike village.

Sukhbir said, “The sole motive of the SAD-BJP rule is to ensure all round development of the State vis-à-vis uplifting living standard of the people at large… The ruling alliance is working round-the-clock in this direction.”

He said that the State was taking phenomenal strides in the field development besides ensuring basic amenities at the ground level, including supply of potable water, complete sewerage network in the state, power, roads by incurring millions of rupees. “SAD-BJP would remain intact with its development vision and pro-poor, pro-farmer, pro-people policies in future too,” he said.
