The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has ruled out the entry of Sucha Singh Chhotepur into the party fold saying that it had a lot of committed workers and a dedicated cadre.

Talking to reporters at the foundation stone laying ceremony of `115 crore project of beautification of Durgiana Mandir open plaza, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said the AAP is on the verge of getting finished and only the last rites need to be performed looking at its present state of affairs.

labeling the AAP as a bunch of no do-gooders only interested in money minting, Sukhbir, also the SAD president, said that its hastily assembled conglomerate of so called leaders managed to lure people of Punjab with their guiles during the lok Sabha polls in 2014 but now the people have seen their real faces and won’t fall into their trap anymore.

On Captain Amarinder Singh, he said the Congress leader didn’t care to show his face to the people of Amritsar despite being the elected representative from here. Upbraiding Congress & AAP, Badal said that both these parties do not care either for the interests of Punjab or the rich cultural and religious traditions of the state.

Pointing to the development of Holy City Amritsar, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the city underwent a transition for the better during the previous nine years of SAD-BJP Government with `3,000 crore spent on various progress oriented infrastructural projects.

Elaborating his plans to turn Amritsar into a hub of Tourism, Badal said that the beautification of area around Durbar Sahib besides the current beautification of Durgiana Mandir Open Plaza and the focus on `250 crore project of giving facelift to the Gobindgarh Fort, would further strengthen Amritsar’s status amongst the tourist destinations.

He reiterated his commitment that no dearth of funds would be allowed to hamper the developmental projects, adding that the state government would hold talks with the Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to bring the summit to Amritsar for hosting more than 30 Ministers of various countries in December this year.

listing the achievements of the SAD-BJP Government, Badal said that with the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal the State Government has been able to maintain peace and communal harmony in Punjab. He also said that the State Government made it an article of faith to observe religious days of all religions apart from constructing memorials dedicated to all religious faiths thus proving the State’s firm commitment to secular ideals.

The Deputy Chief Minister also met officials of various departments and took stock of the various development centric projects concerning the city. He directed the officials to ensure the speedy completion of the projects.
