Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday said that Assembly election results of five States in the country would be a clear message of the complete deracination of Congress from the national political scene.
While talking to the mediapersons after holding Sangat Darshans in Bathinda accompanied by MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Sukhbir said it would be for the first time in India’s history that the Congress would get less than 100 seats in the coming general elections. The ruling SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab will win all the thirteen Parliament seats as the people had witnessed unprecedented development in the State in the past seven years.
Holding Congress-led UPA Government responsible of ruining the country completely, Sukhbir said due to wrong economic policies, the dishonest Congress Government had brought the economy of India at the lowest. “People are frustrated but they know what exactly they need to do now to save the nation. They are going to throw the corrupt Government out by giving them a rock hard defeat,” said Badal. He further said the inauguration of 660 MW Talwandi Sabo Thermal Power Plant on Monday, would give a fillip to Punjab’s economy besides making it power surplus. This power plant project will be the first of its kind hi-tech and non-polluting plant in the State of Punjab and will probably be the greenest power plant in the country. All the 1980 MW power generated at TSPl will be supplied to Punjab State Power Corporation limited (PSPCl)”, he added.
Referring to the ongoing development works in Bathinda, Sukhbir said officers concerned had been directed to complete the development works within a stipulated timeframe. He also said the sewerage systems, water supply and widening and remodelling of roads and streets of Maur Mandi and Maur Kalan would be taken up on priority.
Replying to a query on the much-talked about drug smuggling case in Punjab, he reiterated that the Punjab police have been given clear cut instructions to nab the culprits, howsoever well connected they may be, and deal such cases firmly initiating legal action against them.
