On the day the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) combine hold a massive rally in his citadel Abohar, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and Gurdaspur MP Sunil Jakhar dared SAD president Sukhbir Badal to clarify his role in Behbal Kalan firing and his relationship with Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda.
Dubbing SAD chief as ‘Sukhbir Singh Insan’, Jakhar said that he cannot escape from the responsibility of events that happened during his regime.
Jakhar, addressing a public rally in the presence of MLA Sukhpal Singh Bhullar and former minister Gurchet Singh Bhullar, said that all Punjabis are seeking answers from SAD leader “Sukhbir Singh Insan” of a simple question that who ordered firing at Behbal Kalan. “But instead of clarifying truth, SAD leaders are feigning rallies,” he said.
“Many senior leaders of the Akali Dal have already raised their voice on the decisions of the previous SAD government. Will Sukhbir now conduct rallies in front of their door too?” he asked the SAD president while adding that Punjab has a history that those who betrayed panth were never forgiven, whereas “Sukhbir has betrayed his religion for his vested political interests”.
