As the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have already made public their “promises” for the State’s youth, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Badal on Tuesday announced a slew of incentives to woo the gen-next.
Besides, interest-free loans up to `10 lakh would also be provided to the youth for starting own ventures.
Underlining the need to make the youth of the State to be equipped with latest skills in terms of technology in order to help them being in tune with changing trends, Sukhbir said: “One skill training centre would be established after every five villages. These skill centres would provide top notch skill training to over 10 lakh youth of the State during the course of next five years who would also be given interest loans up to `10 lakh so as to enable them to start their own ventures thus making them self-reliant.”
Sukhbir, interacting with the mediapersons on the side-lines of his Sangat Darshan in Malout constituency, said that during next five years, all 12,000 villages of the State would be equipped with CC flooring besides clean drinking water and sewerage facilities leading to their development on the pattern of urban regions.
Outlining his vision for the poor sections of the society, he said that PUDA would construct five lakh houses in the colonies to be established in villages of the State.
Coming down heavily on Congress, especially PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh, Sukhbir said that the tall promises of former Chief Minister would fall flat on his face because the people of Punjab have seen through the devious game of Congress party which would bite the dust in upcoming Assembly polls with Capt Amarinder’s Chief Ministerial ambitions being dashed to the ground.
Pooh-pooing PPCC Chief’s claims of providing good governance, S Badal asked that why Captain Amarinder could not do that in his previous tenure.
Branding Capt Amarinder as the biggest mafia, he said that the way one after another scam with horrendous details came out regarding Captain’s tenure clearly indicates that Captain and his cronies were only after acquiring riches at the expense of the State.
Castigating AAP, the Deputy Chief Minister said that it is a bunch of irreligious people who do not care for the sentiments of any section of society and who have absolutely no knowledge of the great cultural and historical heritage of Punjab.
Sukhbir added that the police is speedily investigating Kapurthala acid attack case and would take it to the logical conclusion as no one guilty would be spared.
