Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Thursday announced to develop Zirakpur into a model city with all modern amenities.
Interacting with the media persons on the eve of conducting review of roads and parks of various colonies of the city along with Chief Parliamentary Secretary Industries and Commerce NK Sharma, declared that Rs 100 crore would be spent on strengthening of infrastructure in the city in coming four months.
Sukhbir said that Zirakpur is the gateway to Punjab and so it merits the establishing of new parks along with widening and strengthening of road infrastructure.
He also said that his main motive behind paying a visit to the city is to get a first-hand assessment of the situation so as to explore ways and formulate strategies to change its look and carry out beautification projects.
