In a bid to deal with child labour and child abuse cases, Haryana’s Jind district administration has decided to place suggestion boxes in all the schools. “Suggestion and complaint boxes against child labour and child abuse cases will be placed in all the schools of Jind district. And, the complaints received through these boxes would be resolved at the earliest, said Jind Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Balaji Joshi at Jind on Thursday.

He has also directed the district child protection officer to formulate a detailed action plan to bring the number of child labour and child abuse cases to zero and take quick action against any complaint received in this regard.

He said that the schools and other institutions should organize seminars to spread the awareness among teachers, students and local people for prevention of child labour and child abuse. “The suggestion boxes placed at schools should be opened by school teachers in the presence of its management committee and every complaint should be addressed timely,” he added.

The Deputy Commission said that any orphan or abandoned child if found in the district should be sent to the night shelter near city Police Station and special attention should be paid on the security of orphan or abandoned girl child. For this, he directed the police officials to also post policewomen on duty at night shelters.
