Stop defaming Punjab: Majithia

Published on:

Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Sunday asked the anti-Punjab political parties, who are defaming Punjab by levelling baseless charges of 70 per cent Punjab youth as drug addicts, to stop such dirty politics after the results of the dope tests conducted for the recruitment of Punjab Police.

Majithia, while interacting with the media on the sidelines of a function to distribute cheques under shagun scheme, gyms and tricycles, said that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started false propaganda against Punjabis and after that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal well known for such cheap tactics and his team launched a campaign to defame Punjabis as druggists.

“It is crystal clear from the results of the dope tests conducted during the recruitment of Punjab Police as only 1.36 candidates have failed in dope test,” Majithia said.

He said that due to this false propaganda by anti-Punjab elements, Punjab was defamed at national and international level but to bring the real picture in front of the whole world, Deputy Chief Minister decided to make dope test compulsory for Punjab Police recruitment and result is a befitting reply to the betrayers of Punjab.

Reacting on fissures within Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after release of its first list, Majithia said that honest founder members such as Parshant Bushan and Yogendra Yadhav left AAP crying foul practices in the party and now honest and self-esteemed people of Punjab will also leave such corrupt and dictatorial party.

He said that Kejriwal is making fake promises of providing 25 lakh jobs to the youth of Punjab, whereas in Delhi he has not even given a single job to anyone.

Majithia said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Punjab lakhs youth were provided government jobs during the last tenure and now also Punjab Government is in the process of providing 1.25 lakh government jobs to the youth of the State.
