Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar on Sunday said that State Government has decided to develop 50 new lakes to conserve rain water in the State.
Consistent efforts are being made to conserve rainwater. Fifty sites would be selected where rainwater usually collects, and lakes would be developed at these sites. This would help recharge the groundwater table, and the water would be used for irrigation purposes. Old and dried up water sources and ponds would also be restored, said the Chief Minister.
He said that while only 10,000 Government jobs were generated every year, the number of job-seeking youths was much larger. Therefore, industrialists have been asked to set up skill development centres to generate employment opportunities. Emphasis is being laid on skill development of the youth at the Industrial Training Institutes and technical education institutions in the State, he added.
