Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said that there will be no shortage of manure for sowing wheat and mustard in the state.

“The supply of fertilizers is being ensured in the entire state by holding regular talks with the Central Government. In the last three days, eight racks of DAP manure have been received from the Central Government, and in the coming three days nine more racks are being ordered,” the Chief Minister said.

He said that the Central Government is providing 7000 to 8000 metric tonnes of DAP and NPK fertilizers every day.  Haryana Government will not let the farmers face any kind of trouble, he said.

Khattar said that keeping in view the sowing season, fertilizers are being made available in every district as per the requirement.  Continuous supply of fertilizers is being received from the Central Government and so far 2.10  lakh metric tonnes of DAP has been made available in the state. Out of this, 1.82 lakh metric tonnes of DAP fertilizers have been purchased by farmers, he added.

He further said that 3.84 lakh metric tonnes of urea manure, 93,000 metric tonnes of SSP manure and 37000  metric tonnes of NPK manure are available in the state.

The Chief Minister also said that farmers should not pay attention to the rumours, as there is availability of fertilizer in adequate quantities in the state. Farmers should buy fertilizers according to the need and maintain restraint.

Khattar said that farmers can use SSP manure for mustard and NPK manure for wheat and potato in place of DAP.  The Agriculture Department is also continuously making the farmers aware in this regard, he added.

Notably, the farmers have held protests in various parts of the state in the past fortnight over the shortage of DAP fertilizers. The opposition parties have also slammed the State Government for its failing to ensure the adequate availability of fertilizers to the farmers for the next sowing season.
