Punjab Government on Monday appealed to the on-strike nurses under the National Rural Health Mission, demanding regularisation of their jobs, to return to work for “public interest”. With the appeal, however, came the warning. The State Govt has asked the on-strike nurses to return to their duties, if not, the agreement between them and the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, entailing increase in their annual increment to 33 per cent and later regularisation of services, would “not be implemented”.
The appeal was made after the facilities being provided to the patients in Government hospitals and institutions were badly affected.
