Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Saturday said the State Government is committed to its policy of “zero tolerance” towards corruption. Since, there would be no corruption at the top level, there should not be any corruption at the lower level also, he said.

Addressing a meeting of officers in Palwal district, he asked them to pull the plug on corruption which should have no space in civil society. “We should not indulge in graft for fear of the law. As members of civil society we should on our own not indulge in it. It is our country and our society, why should we get involved in corruption,” he asked.Describing corruption as cancer, Manohar lal said providing a corruption-free Government would be among his top priorities. The Chief Minister said that the social security pensions, including the old age allowance for the month of January payable in February would be directly deposited in the bank accounts of beneficiaries.

He said the State Government was committed to providing a transparent administration. “We will tell people what we are doing and will show what we have done. And there would be no difference between what we have done and what we had committed”, he said.
