After recommending rechristening the name of ‘Rajiv Gandhi Khel Parisars’ to ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh Khel Parisars’ in Haryana, the State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that all projects of State Sports Department would henceforth be named after martyrs. This is being done to honour the martyrs who have been neglected so far, said Vij during his meeting with Yadvender Singh, chairman of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Brigade and grandson of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
During the meeting, Yadvender Singh said that it would give honour to those martyrs who had laid down their lives. lashing out at the Congress, Vij said that the Congress has always taught children that their party got the country freedom. Not only this, the Congress y hailed the song ‘Dey Di Hamne Aazadi Bina Khadag Bina Dhal’ (we won freedom without using arms) which never happened because 26,000 soldiers of the Indian National Army set up by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, had sacrificed their lives while fighting with the British.
“Therefore, we cannot ignore the sacrifices made by martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and many others,” he added. Since Independence, the true history of the nation has been hidden. That is why the martyrs could not get the honour they deserved. On the contrary, their families were spied upon and were even addressed as terrorists. The maximum blame for this goes to the Congress and the first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and his clan, alleged the Sports Minister reacting to the recent revelations on how Jawaharlal Nehru government spied on the kin of Netaji Subhash Chander Bose.
