Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal on Sunday said that special focus would be paid to teachers’ attendance and making them more responsible besides conducting examinations from middle standard so as to improve the learning level outcomes of the students.
The students would be assessed of their competencies every year and graded accordingly, she said while talking to media persons at Jhajjar.
She added that these decisions were taken in a meeting of sub-committee of Central Advisory Board of Education held recently to review No Detention Policy and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).
Bhukkal said that being chairperson of the sub-committee, she, with other members, had ensured that the system to pass or fail the students is necessary so as to assess their competency and improve the learning level of students and educational standard. The sub-committee has decided to specify the minimum achievement levels of each and every class and find out the method to assess the learner in a comprehensive manner as per the requirement of the CCE, she added.
On being asked to comment on separate SGPC for Haryana, Bhukkal said that sensing the sentiments Haryana Sikhs, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has now given them the right to serve gurdwaras. A 40 members committee would soon start functioning in State level office at Kurukshetra.
Shiromani Akali Dal has been managing Haryana gurdwaras since the formation of Haryana. Now, the Chief Minister has ensured constitutional rights to Haryana Sikh through formation of separate SGPC, she added.
