lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has nominated the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal as member of a Committee of Presiding Officers to look into all aspects of the office of presiding officers.
Besides, Dr Atwal has also been nominated to a separate committee to look into the problem of Disruptions of Question Hour.
Owing to his vast acknowledgement as a “parliamentarian par excellence”, Dr Atwal has also been nominated as Regional Representative from India Region in the Executive Committee of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, london (UK) for the period from 2014 to 2016.
The former lok Sabha Deputy Speaker, Dr Atwal is also a member of the Executive Committee of the CPA India Region from August 15, 2014, to August 14, 2017.
