'SPEAK OUT, KEEP EYE OPEN'

Published on:

Under fire for not raising their concerns and putting forward their point during the Cabinet decisions in the Punjab Government, the BJP core committee has asked its Ministers to speak out and keep their eyes open. Sources maintained that the senior leadership has asked the party Ministers to raise their issues strongly in the cabinet meetings, so that party’s concerns be addressed, and it wont have to face embarrassment among its vote bank. The BJP has four Ministers in the State Government — Bhagat Chunni lal, Anil Joshi, Madan Mohan Mittal and Surjit Kumar Jiyani.

During the Government’s two-year tenure, the BJP had shuffled ministries among its Ministers after it was found that they were not performing well and failed to take effective decisions. The saffron party had made its alliance partners, SAD, to revoke several decisions including property tax, entry tax, fees on colonies regularisation, taxes in urban areas, high power tariff, VAT on sugar, textile, flour, among others, after giving their nod during Cabinet meetings.
