Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Monday emphasised that in the coming months, State will witness inclusive development on a massive scale as the Government has chalked out its agenda to develop the State socially and economically.
He also informed that State Government is going to advertise soon a total of one lakh jobs in keeping with its policy of providing employment to youth of the State.
Sukhbir, interacting with media after inspecting novel project of converting the village pond at Sakkanwali village into a scenic lake and recreation facility for the residents, said that funds would be released constituency-wise to carry out developmental works like roads, clean drinking water, lights, sewerage in the rural and urban areas.
Terming ‘Progressive Punjab Investor Summit-2015’ as a grand success, he said that investors from across the globe had shown tremendous interest in making investments in the state which would result in strengthening infrastructure as well as ensuring job avenues for 2.5 lakh youth.
State Government has announced a slew of tax exemptions for the food processing sector and investments made in this sector would benefit the state’s farmers too, he said.
Inviting the farmers to generate power from non-conventional energy resources, he said that the State Government is encouraging to generate power from residue of crops besides devoting special attention to commissioning new biomass based plants.
He said that the State Government is providing subsidy on bailers to make bundles of paddy stubble.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, Sukhbir came down heavily on Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) saying that both parties have ignored the problems being faced by the farmers and labour class.
He alleged that the people now become well aware of the true face of these anti-farmer and anti-poor parties.
