Sonia, Rahul urged to act against HP CM

Published on:

BJP leader and former Cabinet minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi to take action against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, else people would take their statements against corruption as “hollow”.

In a statement issued here, Thakur regretted the HPCC was not the right agency to submit a report on the alleged serious charges of corruption against Virbhadra Singh and added that only judicial or CBI inquiry could bring the truth to surface. The denial of charges by the accused person did not make any sense, he said.

He said the people of the state were shocked and intrigued over the manner in which the chief minister was being protected tarnishing the image of Congress which seemed to have learnt no lesson from the humiliating defeat recently. H e said nothing short of impartial inquiry would satisfy the people at this crucial time when the general elections of 2014 were at the door-step.
