Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday said that in the event of SAD-BJP Government coming to power again, all villages of the state would be equipped with solar lights besides sewerage facilities and concretisation of the streets at a cost of Rs35,000 crore.
Badal claimed that Punjab Government has effected path breaking initiatives leading to record progress in the state in every sector during past nine years with many development projects currently going on war footing.
Inaugurating a cancer check up and eye camp in Phagwara constituency, he said the SAD-BJP Government has been responsible for making Punjab power surplus besides leaving a legacy of excellent road infrastructure.
He added a majority of population in doaba region lives abroad and Adampur airport would be operationalised shortly to cater to their needs.
Appreciating the NRI diaspora for contributing a great deal in transforming the doaba region, Badal said that NRI community has also been of immense assistance in the development of the villages which clearly signifies that they are still firmly connected with their ancestral roots and share a deep personal bond with their villages.
The Deputy Chief Minister also underlined the fact that more Punjabis are living abroad than the whole population of Punjab and they have carved out a special place for themselves by the dint of their hard work and dedication.
