SOI to set up helpline to assist students

To assist the new students in their admissions in various colleges across Punjab, Student Organization of India (SOI) — the student wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) — on Sunday decided to set up a helpline.

“In wake of upcoming admission season in different colleges of Punjab, we have decided a roadmap to help the new students and guide them in their admission process. SOI would also set up a helpline number soon,” said SOI’s national president Parminder Singh Brar after presiding over a meeting with the members of SOI Malwa Zone 3, which was attended by Malwa zone 3 president Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, Chandigarh zone president Iqbalpreet Singh, Vicky Midukhera, Simran Dhillon, Rasphal and other senior SOI members.

Brar said that the students face a lot of inconvenience at the hands of College administration staff while trying to get admissions into their favourite streams. “By this helpline, we will be just a call away to facilitate them in their admission process,” he said.

SOI leadership also discussed about the preparation plans for 550th parkash purab of Sikhs’ first master Guru Nanak Dev to make this auspicious occasion a memorable experience for the entire nanak nam leva sangat across the state.
