Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Tuesday launched Smart parking app for the people of the city which has been designed to help people park their cars in the city parking lots and also pay online.
The app — “Arya Smart Parking Chandigarh” can be downloaded through android as well IOS mobile phones, which will help the commuters to locate their parking lot and can book their parking as per their requirement easily. Speaking on the occasion, Badnore said that with the launch of this app the struggle to find parking in the parking lots throughout city will end.
He said the new smart parking technologies enables commuters to see current car parking information, from rates, restrictions, hours of operation and vacancies in real-time. “They would then be able to see and select under utilised car parkings near their work places or a viable local alternative before they even leave the house. They could even pre book and pay for the spot through the app there and ensuring they got a convenient parking space for their commute,” he said. Top officials of the Chandigarh Administration were present in the meeting to launch the app.
Arya toll Infra ltd. has started the project with an idea of of digital & smart city and women empowerment as almost 40 per cent female staff were employed by the company. With the help of NUlM cell, MCC, several training session were conducted for staff members making them confident enough to tackle all the problems related to operations and management. All the 25 parking lots have been divided into 58 lots, out of which at 56 parking locations the operations timing are morning 8 am to 12.00 night, and for the rest 2 location, timings are 11.30 am to 12.00 night.
