Chandigarh Police on Monday gave pensionary benefits to the family of late Inspector Sucha Singh, including pension, leave encashment, death gratuity and Ex-gratia grant. This came to around Rs63 lakh. Singh was stabbed to death by dismissed constable of Chandigarh Police, Basant Kumar last week.
For his conscientious services, utmost devotion to the duties, Chandigarh Police personnel have already decided to donate their one day salary voluntarily which comes to Rs30 lac approximately.
Chandigarh police also arranged funds from the Welfare schemes, including Group Accident Insurance of Rs5 lac, Accident Insurance of Rs5 lac, family pension Rs2000/- per month for ten years, financial aid Rs1 lac, etc. Total benefits of around Rs63 lac will be given to the family, a spokesman of the Police said.
