The Haryana Government has decided to impart skill training to unemployed youth in various sectors under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for Technical Institutes (PMKVY-TI) in the academic year, 2017-18.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved technical institutes in the State are requested to register under the scheme and impart training to the willing youth, said a spokesman of Haryana Technical Education Department.
He said that a letter has been written to principals of technical institutions. Each institute could select maximum five sectors with 100 intakes per sector with a batch of 25.
The training would be imparted in off hours and technical institutions or polytechnics have to utilise their existing infrastructure for offering these courses in the off-collage hours. The unemployed youth would acquire skills under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) so that they could find suitable placement or self employment, said the spokesman.
He added that all the eligible institutes would have to register under the scheme online at AICTE portal, which is open for registration.
last year, the State Government had also started Saksham Yuva scheme to provide employment to unemployed educated youth who are given monthly salary of Rs 9,000 in lieu of 100 hours work undertaken by them under the scheme.
