With an aim to develop skills in youth alongwith industrial training, Haryana Government has attached the work of Skill Development Department with the Industrial Training Department.
“Till now, the Skill Development Department was affiliated to Haryana Technical Education Department,” said Industrial Training Minister Vipul Goel on Thursday.
He said that the aim of the State Government is to develop skills in youth alongwith industrial training, and it would be possible only when both are imparted together. This decision of the State Government would prove to be very beneficial to youth getting industrial training, said he.
The Minister said that the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department would look after the establishment matters relating to officers and staff under the administrative control of the Department, except matters allotted to the Personnel, Administrative Reforms, Training and General Administration Departments. The Department would also conduct examinations, frame rules and award certificates, besides dealing with all academic, administrative and financial matters of government industrial training institute and other institutions.
The Department would inspect and audit income-expenditure accounts of all government industrial training institutes and institutions. Apart from this, it would prepare the plan and non-plan budgets of the Department and monitor the implementation of various schemes, both plan and non-plan, said he.
The Minister said that the Department would also arrange scholarships, stipend and other facilities to the students in the institutions, besides developing and promoting skills, and industrial training courses.
It would also look after advanced vocational training institutions, apprenticeship training, industrial training institutes , Mini industrial training institutes and craftsmen training scheme, private institutions imparting industrial training and affiliated to state council for vocational training, and national council for vocational training.
He said that the Department would also look after the State Council for Apprenticeship Training, State Council for Vocational Training, teachers’ training centres, institute of training of trainers, Haryana Skill Development Mission and all Central and State Government funded skill training in the state, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University and affiliated institutions, all skill development schemes including formulation, proposal, planning, budget and their implementation in the state and collaboration, national and international, for skilling of youth and the work force.
