After its annual financial performance for the year 2014-15, public sector SJVN limited has paid a dividend of Rs280 crore to the Government of India holding 64.5 per cent equity in the Company.
SJVN had declared a total dividend of Rs434.35 crore for FY 2014-15 which is the highest paid so far.
An Amount of Rs168 crore has already been paid to Government of India as interim dividend and the cheque of remaining amount of Rs112 Crore as final dividend is now released. last year SJVN paid a total dividend of Rs405.39 crore.
The dividend cheque was handed over to Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goel by RN Misra CMD, SJVN at New Delhi.
The cheque was presented in the presence of senior officials of the Ministry of Power. On this occasion AS Bindra, Director (Finance), RK Bansal Director (Electrical), and senior officers of SJVN were also present.
Handing over the cheque to Goel, RN Misra informed him that the Financial Year 2014-15 was an eventful year for SJVN.
In this year SJVN succeeded in adding generation capacity with commissioning of all the six generating units of 412 MW Rampur Hydro Electric Project in Himachal Pradesh and all the 56 units of 47.6 MW Khirwire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra.
