Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday made it clear that it would seek legal opinion to pursue the case of Punjabi farmers in Gujarat in the Supreme Court.
Besides, the SAD patron-in-chief and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy son and SAD president Sukhbir Badal would take up the issue with the BJP national president Rajnath Singh and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, respectively. “Akali Dal would also seek legal opinion to pursue the case in the Supreme Court,” said Badal while talking with the media persons in ludhiana.
He added that the SAD was committed for safeguarding the interests of Punjabi farmers in Gujarat. “I would be meeting BJP national president Rajnath Singh over the issue, while a party delegation headed by Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Badal would take up the matter with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi,” said Badal.
