Punjab local Government, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday launched a mobile e-store by Pumpkart in the form of a van.
The van will move out in the rural and urban areas with the aim to educate and aware farmers, households and other consumers to select correct products. The van was flagged off by Sidhu and the Brand Ambassador of Pumpkart & former Captain of Indian Cricket Team Kapil Dev.
Sidhu said such ventures are bound to act as game changers in providing people services to the at their very door steps.
He said the local Government Department, Punjab, also is streamlining its working to bring it in to the up with tune date innovations in with technology field and has forged partnership Punjab Remote Sensing Centre at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), ludhiana.
Citing an example in this regard, the Minister said that recently the department conducted the air surveillance to ascertain the actual position regarding illegal constructions and found more than 4 lakh houses whereas earlier the number was estimated to be 90000.
Kapil Dev said the generation next is more techno-savvy and can deliver the goods; what they need is constant support and encouragement regarding such start-ups.
