Should be available on cellphones for emergency duties: Govt to employees

Published on:

The Punjab Government has asked its employees to remain available on their “allotted” mobile or residential landline numbers for any emergency duty. The Government has also asked the employees to update their numbers with their respected departments.

The instructions, issued on Tuesday to all the Punjab government employees, came after it has been noticed that the employees frequently change their mobile number and do not get their numbers updated in the departments.

Besides, the authorities concerned have also found that in case of emergency duty, the employees are not available on mobile numbers or at their residential address given to the department.

“All employees have been instructed to provide their latest address residential landline number and mobile numbers to the head of the department so that they could be contacted in the case of emergency duty of the Government,” said a spokesperson.
