Shinde begins work, leaders summoned

A day after being appointed by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to probe into the incident of assault on party's Haryana unit chief Ashok Tanwar, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has began his probe into the incident.

It is learnt that the veteran Congress leader has summoned Haryana Congress leaders to Delhi on October 18 to hold meeting on the issue. After this, Tanwar supporters who have submitted a complaint to party high command against former CM Hooda are also likely to be summoned by Shinde on the issue. Expressing their anguish over the violent clash, Tanwar supporters had last week met incharge of Haryana party affairs Kamal Nath and demanded ouster of Hooda and his supporters from the party. A day before, Hooda had also met party’s vice president Rahul Gandhi on this issue. The former Chief Minister Hooda is said to have given his clarification on the clash and has termed the incident as scuffle between party workers.
