In another twist, the Amritsar based Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee has decided to deploy private security at historical Gurdwaras in Haryana to prevent the Haryana SGPC from taking them over.

Avtar Singh Makkar, president of SGPC chaired an emergency meeting of the officer bearers at Gurdwara Nada Sahib in Panchkula on Thursday. After the meeting, he said SGPC would depute at least 100 to 150 private security persons at every historical gurdwara, to protect its belongings in Haryana.

"The possession of any gurdwara in Haryana will not be allowed by these security personnel,” said Makkar.

He also asked SAD MlAs and MPs to come forward for the cause of Haryana gurdwaras. He requested Sucha Singh langah former Cabinet Minister of Punjab to look after Nada Sahib Gurdwara, Prem Singh Chandumajra, MP from Anandpur Sahib, look after Karnal Gurdwara.

Makkar termed the recently passed Haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) Bill in the Haryana Assembly as Hooda’s ‘money Bill’. There are 52 gurdwaras in Haryana, including eight which are historical.
