SAD's 'emergency' core committee meet today

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has convened an “emergency meeting” of the party’s core committee on Saturday at Chief Minister’s residence to discuss its “next course of action”.

The meeting would also discuss the situation arising out of the law related to the creation of separate Gurdwara Committee in Haryana. “Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has created constitutional crisis after getting this unconstitutional law passed from the Haryana Vidhan Sabha for his narrow political interests on one hand and he has tried to divide the Sikhs by hurting their religious sentiments on the other,” sai9d SAD general secretary Harcharn Bains. He said that a decision on the next course of action would be taken by the core committee.

Reacting to the comments of the Haryana Chief Secretary on the letter of Union Home Ministry, Bains said” “Haryana Chief Secretary should stop treating the Constitution of India as a joke. I am shocked that he can be amused at such a grave constitutional crisis created by his government. I advised also not to treat the sentiments of Sikh community as a laughing matter.”
