As the countdown to 2014 elections have already begun, the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday initiated its poll preparations by constituting its election manifesto committee.
SAD chief and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has constituted 12-member committee to prepare the party’s election manifesto for the coming lok Sabha elections under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament and party secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
Party secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema has been appointed member secretary of the committee, which has been entrusted with the task of finalising the manifesto by February 20. Other members of the committee include former ministers Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Jathedar Tota Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Naresh Gujaral, Sewa Singh Sekhwan, Gulzar Singh Ranike and Harcharan Singh Bains.
