SAD to contest Haryana polls in alliance with BJP

Just like in Punjab, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has decided to contest the ensuing assembly elections in the neighbouring state of Haryana in alliance with the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).

Announcing this, SAD’s core committee member and in-charge Haryana Balwinder Singh Bhunder on Friday said that the “negotiations for seat sharing are on at present”.

Bhunder, while talking with the media after a meeting of SAD Haryana unit convened to take stock of the recruitment derive in the state, said that the members were briefed about the developments on the negotiations with the BJP.

Also, the party leadership took a feedback from the senior Haryana SAD leaders on the prospects of party leaders, he added.

Notably, SAD had contested the previous state elections in alliance with the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), while the BJP decided to go all alone and managed to sweep the state for the first time ever.
