The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday held protests across Punjab against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and accused the AAP leadership of double-speak over Satluj-Yamuna link (SYl) Canal water. The protests at all district headquarter cities and towns were led by Punjab Ministers and party legislators.
The protestors raised slogans against the AAP leadership. They also burnt effigies of Kejriwal at various places, saying the AAP leadership was misleading people of Punjab on the water issue.
“The AAP leadership, including Kejriwal, is misleading the people in Punjab. They say one thing on the Sutlej-Yamuna link Canal in Punjab and another while in Delhi. The Delhi Government is also responsible for the demolition of a ‘piao’ outside Gurdwara Sis Ganj in Delhi,” Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said.
