In a complete breach of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s security, Punjab’s SAD legislators on Wednesday confronted him outside the Vidhan Sabha building raising slogans demanding a resolution by the Haryana Government in Assembly to repeal the Centre’s three agricultural laws. At the same time, the MLAs demanded amendments in the concerned law to make the entire State a single ‘mandi’ so that the black laws cannot be implemented in Haryana.

SAD MLAs confronted Khattar immediately after he came out of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha hall and raised slogans “Khattar – Modi Kisan Virodhi”, “Kisana nu Insaaf davao” and “Haryana- Punjab bhai bhai” even as they condemned the BJP government for its anti-farmer stance.

SAD legislators including legislative party leader Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Bikram Singh Majithia, Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal, NK Sharma, Manpreet Singh Ayali, Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Harinderpal Singh Chandumajra and Kanwarjit Singh Barkandi, Baldev Khaira also condemned the Khattar Government for indulging in atrocities against human right activists including Nodeep Kaur and Shiv Kumar, saying that the torture inflicted on them was unimaginable in a democratic society.  They demanded all cases registered against the human right activists as well as hundreds of farmers who had been targeted only because they opposed the Agri laws should be withdrawn.

HARYANA SPEAKER OBJECTS TO THE BEHAVIOUR OF PUNJAB MLAs

Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta on Wednesday strongly objected to the act of Punjab legislators wherein they had attempted to encircle Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Haryana Assembly premises. Immediately after the incident, Gupta spoke to Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana KP Singh and asked him to take strict cognisance of the matter.

Gupta released a press note and stated that Punjab Speaker Rana KP Singh expressed regret over this incident and said that strict steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in future.

According to Gupta, this incident occurred when the Haryana Chief Minister was addressing the reporters in front of the Speaker’s Gate after the completion of fourth day of the Budget Session in the Haryana Assembly on Wednesday evening. Some Punjab MLAs reached there and protested by raising slogans against the Chief Minister.

Asking him to call a meeting in this regard, Gupta also requested the Punjab Speaker to issue appropriate guidelines to all the MLAs of the Punjab Assembly in this direction so that in future Vidhan Bhavan will create an atmosphere of mutual brotherhood and harmony.
