Warning the SAD-BJP Government against “wasteful expenditure of public funds” on its “false propaganda”, Punjab Congress on Tuesday pointed out that Government has not been able to pay rightful claims of Government employees and other beneficiaries of social welfare schemes.

“The SAD-BJP Government is spending whopping amount of about Rs 1.25 crores per month on advertisements in the print media alone,” said Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa on the basis of information obtained under the Right to Information Act. “During first 10 months of 2013-14 from April 1 to February 3, Punjab Government has issued advertisements worth Rs 12.99 crores to various newspapers. Most of these advertisements were related to false propaganda regarding development projects which didn’t go beyond foundation stones,” said Bajwa.
