Reacting sharply on the SAD’s decision to hold four massive dharnas, Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday said that both the SAD and BJP were bent upon befooling the people of the State.
“While Amit Shah has announced to start anti-drug campaign from Amritsar on January 12, Sukhbir has announced dharna against the BSF meaning thereby a dharna against the Centre. Both BJP and SAD are now severely confronting each other to take credit on the drugs issue,” pointed Bajwa.
He said that both parties have not realised the gravity of the situation and are just trying to score brownie points. “Both these alliance partners are strange bed fellows, who are fighting with each other, while chose to remain together for sole intention of looting the people of Punjab. They are cursing each other by the day and sleep together in the same quilt at night,” said Bajwa.
This confrontism between the alliance partners “leaves no doubt that they have completely lost moral ground to be in the Government and Badal should seek fresh mandate”. “This action of Sukhbir-led SAD should be seen as a anti-national and his Government should be dismissed immediately in the interest of national security and PM Narendra Modi should prove his sincerity and commitment to what he said in his Mann ki Baat programme,” demanded Bajwa.
Bajwa contended that SAD’s this move would “demoralise the armed forces and para military forces who are doing their duty diligently, while Sukhbir is totally ignoring the fact the synthetic drugs are manufactured locally”.
