Former Punjab Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal on Tuesday flayed the SAD-BJP Government for making false promises with the people of the State saying that the Atta-Dal scheme proposed to begin from December 1 had proved to be a hoax.
Addressing a meeting of Congress workers under mass contact programme of the state Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa, Bhattal said that SAD-BJP Government had wasted crores of rupees on publicity of Atta-Dal scheme and misled the poor people.
“The new Atta-Dal scheme is an adoption of Food Security progamme of UPA Government which is giving subsidy on both wheat and dal. Beneficiaries of Atta-Dal scheme were not given any commodity for over last one year. Not even a single promise made by SAD and BJP during elections is fulfilled,” she said.
Bhattal maintained that crores of rupees were spent on advertising campaign of Progressive Punjab Investment Summit and launching of Atta Dal scheme, and “the outcome of Investment Summit would be same as that of Atta-Dal scheme”.
“Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal is holding such summits to cover up failures of his Government. SAD-BJP Government has imposed heavy taxes on people of
State, the law and order situation is getting worst and unemployment is spreading like wild fire,’ she added.
