SAD-BJP alliance to discuss agenda for Budget session

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) legislature Party will put its heads together to discuss the agenda for the ongoing Budget Session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Monday.

It is also been expected to discuss the future strategy the alliance has to adopt. As of now, an all-important Budget Session is heading towards a washout with a deadlock between the ruling and the Opposition.

On one hand where the Opposition is sticking to its stand of not apologising seeking revoking of suspension of its “suspended” MlAs, the treasury benches, on the other, has made “an apology” a condition for the members of Congress for revoking the suspension.

Sticking by its nine “under suspension” MlAs, the Congress has decided to boycott the ongoing session, and holding a parallel “mock” assembly till March 26 — the last day of the session.

In a meeting, to be attended by all the legislatures of the ruling coalition, has been called by the leader of SAD-BJP legislature party, also the leader of the House, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at 12.30 pm.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in Panjabi Regional Committee Hall of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Strict instructions have been issued to all the MlAs of both the parties to remain present in the meeting, said the sources.
