Terming the SAD-BJP alliance as everlasting, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said that the SAD-BJP alliance has stood the test of time and it is wrong to compare this partnership with any other in the country.
“SAD-BJP alliance is everlasting and both the parties should not be seen as different from each other,” Badal told the reporters while responding to their queries on seat-sharing between the BJP and its ally Shiv Sena for coming Maharashtra assembly polls after paying obeisance at Tilla Baba Sheikh Farid.
“The tried and tested alliance between the two parties is a unique phenomenon of the Indian democratic system. It has passed every litmus test in the last few decades,” said the five-time Chief Minister.
It is a sheer wastage of time to raise any suspicion regarding the relationship between both the partners, he said, adding that “our alliance is very strong”. The 86-year-old Chief Minister said that the seat-sharing in Maharashtra is the personal matter of both the parties and it should not be linked with that of the SAD-BJP in Punjab.
“The relations between the SAD and the BJP are very cordial. They have been time and again cemented with mutual affection and understanding,” said Badal. “The SAD-BJP Government has put Punjab on high growth trajectory,” he said. Earlier, Badal paid floral tributes to Shiekh Baba Farid and said his life and philosophy is very much relevant in today’s materialistic society.
