SAD on Monday asked Capt Amarinder Singh to stop building castles in the air and concentrate first on setting his own house in order which is on fire following haphazard distribution of tickets for the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in the State.
SAD spokesman and Adviser to the Deputy Chief Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it was amusing to see Capt Amarinder Singh boasting in terms of politically finishing his opponents, particularly the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, even before filing his nomination papers from any constituency in the State.
It is clear that Capt Amarinder is just whistling in the dark to keep up his courage in the face of discontentment, disarray and rebellion in the Congress party all over the state over selection of candidates.
Sirsa said main purpose of Amarinder to fight from lambi is not to wage a serious challenge to a titan like Badal but to help the AAP which has fielded a non entity like Jarnail Singh under the secret understanding the two parties have struck.
He should remember that Badal has won four times in a row in lambi since 1997.
“Amarinder is scared of facing the formidable challenge being posed by the Akali candidate, Gen JJ Singh (retd) in Patiala and is now running to lambi. The cadres of Akali Dal are just waiting for him to put in an appearance in lambi to ensure that he meets his waterloo there,” Sirsa said.
