lashing out at the Aam Admi Party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of drugs in Goa, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday said that it seems that the AAP leader wanted to “befool” the people of two states on a single issue with the motive of achieving power.
“It is disgusting to see that Kejriwal has tried to incite people on the issue of narcotics in Goa as he had tried in Punjab. Delhi Chief Minister has leveled same allegations on the ruling party of Goa which he had leveled on SAD leadership in Punjab,” pointed SAD secretary-cum-spokesman and the state Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema.
He said that similar was his claim of nexus between political class, police and narcotics traders in Goa which was in Punjab. “It is very surprising that he is using same tactic of creating a fear among the masses and exploiting their sentiments on the issue whose gravity is perhaps he is unaware of,” he said.
Cheema reminded the AAP leader that in this era of social media and high-tech media, “his gestures of trying to befool people of two states won’t work as he stood exposed nationally for his lies”.
Expressing surprise over Kejriwal’s statement saying ‘AAP does not have funds to contest elections’, Cheema said that this is his old ploy to win sympathy of the people wherever he goes and to earn money in the form of donations as well as sale of tickets.
Cheema asked him that if the party did not have money, then was it the reason behind that he wasted crores of rupees of people of Delhi on his campaign in media in PunjabIJ “His statement of empty coffers of AAP is nothing but a sheer attempt to gain sympathy of the NRIs so that he could get more funds for the elections,” he said.
“Everybody knows that AAP is major receiver of funds from abroad and his statement is only an attempt to get more funding from abroad as the local Indians are already aware of his mischiefs and don’t contribute towards the party,” he added.
