Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) on Friday appointed Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, who had recently joined hands with the new front after leaving the All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF), as the party’s general secretary and spokesperson.
The appointment was made by the party president and Khadoor Sahib MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura keeping in view the services rendered by him to the party, said SAD (Taksali) secretary general Sewa Singh Sekhwan.
Sekhwan said that Peer Mohammad will also represent the party's viewpoint in various debates and discussions on different television and electronic channels.
Besides, the other office bearers of the party would be announced in a short while, he added.
Peer Mohammad had joined the Sikh politics and became the AISSF president in 1995.
