Rubbishing charges of indiscipline against him, ousted ludhiana DCC president Pawan Dewan on Wednesday blamed state Congress chief Partap Bajwa for “actually resorting to indiscipline by trying to instigate people against Capt Amarinder”.
“Even after becoming PCC president, Bajwa remained insecure and from day one wanted party leaders and office bearers to issue statements against Capt Amarinder. Main reason for my removal is that I refused to oblige Bajwa by not being signatory to various statements against Capt Amarinder that were issued at Bajwa’s behest,” said Dewan.
Dewan said that he would meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi seeking Bajwa’s removal “if the party really wanted to save Congress in the state”.
The reason for “immediate provocation” could be his working for Preneet during Patiala by poll while Bajwa wanted him to campaign in Talwandi Sabo, he said.
“I told him that I have experience in urban areas and it would be difficult for me to work in rural Talwandi Sabo and he took offence of it,” said Dewan while accusing Bajwa of demanding funds from him which he was not ready to collect.
